Privacy notice — this website
Effective June 2026
This notice covers only the OurSay marketing website at oursay.ca — specifically the waitlist and contact forms. It does not describe the OurSay platform itself, which will publish its own privacy and data practices before launch.
What we collect
When you choose to join the waitlist or contact us, we collect only what you submit: your email address, an optional name, the type of participant you identify as (for example, constituent, representative, or journalist), and any optional message. We don't require anything else, and we don't track you to collect it.
Why we collect it
To let you know when OurSay launches, to gauge interest across different audiences, and to respond to representatives and journalists who reach out. We use it for these purposes only. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Consent
Submitting a form is voluntary and acts as your consent for us to contact you about OurSay. You can withdraw that consent at any time — every email we send will include a clear way to unsubscribe, and you can also email us directly to be removed.
Where the data goes
For now, these forms are run through Google Forms, so submissions are processed and stored by Google under its own terms and privacy policy. We keep the information only as long as needed to contact you about the launch, and we'll migrate to our own infrastructure as the platform matures. We never commit this data to our public code repository.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL), you have the right to access your information and to withdraw consent to be contacted. To exercise any of these, email oursay.ca@gmail.com.
